Like many introverts, I spend a lot of time observing the world around me. It’s easier to observe when you are more likely to be the quiet one in the group.
And like most babies would attest to, if they could speak in a language that we understand, you can learn an enormous amount from merely watching. While others might think you’re just being quiet or have nothing to say, you are really soaking in information about the world around you and analysing it critically.
Observing includes listening carefully, reading body language and letting your intuition guide you as piece together knowledge about the world around you.
You can get a lot of valuable information about what your clients really think about your products and services, about what the junior members of the company think of the latest policy and what the trends over the next few months are likely to be.
If you are introverted and an introverted leader, do you find that you are able to deduce or observe things that others around you cannot?
